Sangria is a tasty wine punch with a long history in Spain and Portugal, which then spread through the Spanish empire in Latin America. In recent years, Sangria has become a popular drink in many countries. It is easy to make Sangria, and there are many recipe variations. The kind and amount of fruits added varies. There is no such thing as a traditional Sangria recipe, as even in Spain there are different concoctions. As red wine is inexpensive in Spain, it is considered the base ingredient.
